2024 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT Unveiled in Los Angeles

This year has been the year of the redesigned, new-generation Hyundai Santa Fe. The model was first introduced this summer to the world and earlier this month, the 2024 Santa Fe was introduced formally to the North American market. This allowed us to get a more comprehensive look at the new features and powertrains that will be offered on the new Santa Fe here in North America. It also gave us our first glimpse at the rugged 2024 Santa Fe XRT.
New 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT
The new 2024 Santa Fe is characterized by its impressive and very rugged new design. This is taken one step further with the new Santa Fe XRT, which made its global debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This is a new, outdoor-focused sport model, designed to go even further off the beaten path. Based on the top-of-the-line Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy trim, which offers the highest level of comfort and connectivity features in the new Santa Fe lineup, the XRT model stands out with a distinct and bold design.
The new XRT model adds dark chrome and black trim elements and cladding to the exterior, as well as black roof rails and crossbars. The Santa Fe XRT also features 30-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels. The new Santa Fe XRT gains an extra 1.5 inches of ground clearance which provides added confidence on tough terrain. The new XRT will also be able to tow your ATVs or camper with confidence, offering 4,500 pounds of towing capacity.
2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Engine Lineup for North America
The unveiling of the redesigned Santa Fe at the Los Angeles Auto Show also provided more details on the redesigned midsize SUV from Hyundai. We learned that it will be powered by a standard 2.5 L direct-injected, turbocharged engine, which will be paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Hyundai says this standard powertrain will deliver 277 hp and 311 pound-feet of torque, making the 2024 Santa Fe the most powerful SUV in its segment out of the gate.
The Korean automaker also confirmed that the 2024 Santa Fe would be available with a hybrid engine. The 1.6 L direct-injected, turbocharged gas component of this hybrid engine is paired with an electric powertrain to deliver an impressive 232 hp and 271 pound-feet of torque. This engine won't compromise on performance while also delivering exceptional fuel economy.
The new XRT edition, as well as the two available engines for the Canadian market, are just part of what makes the new Santa Fe so impressive. The model is now more versatile than ever with 1146 L of cargo space, an extra 116 L compared to the previous generation, and a cargo opening that is wider by 5.7 inches, ensuring optimal versatility.
The new Santa Fe also features a wide range of new connectivity and comfort features. Arriving on the market in Spring 2024, the new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is one of the most anticipated new sport utility vehicles coming next year.
